Before you book

A moment of clarity
before we begin.

Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture are regulated health disciplines with a defined scope of practice. Reading this page takes two minutes and ensures we are a good fit before your first appointment.

Scope of practice

What this practice does and does not do.

The Quantum Elemental Medicine™ framework operates entirely within the regulated scope of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The following points help set clear expectations before your first visit.

This is not a medical diagnosis

TCM practitioners do not diagnose, treat, or manage medical conditions as defined under the Medicine Act. What we offer is a constitutional assessment — a pattern-based picture of your body’s current state — expressed in classical Chinese medical language, not Western medical terminology.

We do not replace your physician

This practice is complementary, not a substitute for primary care. If you have an active medical condition or are under the care of a physician, we encourage you to maintain that relationship. We are happy to work alongside your existing healthcare team.

Herbal prescriptions are individualised

Chinese herbal formulas prescribed through this practice are customised to your constitutional pattern. It is important that you disclose all current medications and supplements at intake so that herb-drug interactions can be properly assessed.

Results vary and timelines are honest

Constitutional medicine works cumulatively. Some patients notice shifts within the first week; for others, meaningful change emerges over several months. We do not make guarantees of outcome. What we do commit to is a rigorous, evidence-informed clinical approach at every visit.

Emergency situations

This practice is not equipped to manage acute emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department immediately. Do not contact this practice in lieu of emergency services.

Regulatory standing

Vu Le is registered with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) and holds NCCAOM Diplomate status in the United States. Van Lam holds equivalent registration. Both practitioners are in good standing with their respective colleges.

What happens next

Three steps to your first visit.

Confirmation

You will receive an email confirmation within 48 hours. If you have indicated a preferred practitioner and area of interest, we will confirm availability and send intake materials ahead of your visit.

Intake

A short intake form covering your health history, current medications, and chief concern will be sent before your appointment. Completing it in advance means we can use the full session for your clinical picture.

Your first visit

Initial consultations are typically 75–90 minutes. We spend significant time understanding your constitutional picture before any treatment begins. Come as you are — there is nothing to prepare beyond the intake form.
